PRESTIGE M8: Camillo Garroni does not innovate but, literally, reinvents the motor catamaran.

The launch of the new Prestige M8 finally breaks the mold of a market exaggeratedly accustomed to considering motor catamarans as surrogates (without masts) for a multi-hulled sailboat. In this context, Camillo Garroni not only innovates but literally reinvents the motor catamaran, finally giving it its own specific connotation, made of form and substance, effectively creating a new market segment that simply did not exist before.

PRESTIGE M8 is a cutting-edge boat that, in 20 meters, manages to give spaces, functions and settings that are typical only of large motor superyachts. A novelty that we just could not refrain from analyzing in detail.

The new PRESTIGE M8 in detail

It is hard not to be immediately captivated by the new PRESTIGE M8 which, despite her considerable size, flaunts a light sinuous and captivating line, distant light years from the squat and cubic design to which the multihull market had accustomed us in recent years.

The masterful hand of Camillo Garroni skillfully shapes the concave and convex surfaces of this catamaran, which, enhanced by chromatic contrasts, on the one hand celebrate the beauty of these lines, but on the other manage to clothe the new PRESTIGE M8 with a unique design that is certainly destined not to age over time.

But the design of this catamaran does not just impress at first glance, it goes far beyond that, permeating the very soul of this boat, which admirably succeeds in synthesizing form and function into a perfect cocktail, capable of eliminating any barrier between the sea and the craft itself.

A very clear example of this is the main deck, which, thanks to a clever use of windows and reflective surfaces, extends its boundaries far beyond the physical limit of its albeit enormous dimensions, reaching out to conquer the outdoor spaces in a way that is almost imperceptible to the senses. Thus the spaces range from an immense living room, very reminiscent of the style of a Miami waterfront villa, to this huge terrace that gives an unparalleled contact with its surroundings.

From here we descend to the beach area aft where a movable platform of more than four meters, made especially for this boat, comes alive and becomes a precious descent to the sea or, wanting to dream all the way, allows dining at the water’s edge when fully extended.

Going along the side-decks, we finally reach the bow, which, taking advantage of the almost nine meters of beam offered by the PRESTIGE M8, accommodates a simply immense sundeck and another salon capable of accommodating 8/10 guests with a privileged panoramic view.

As many as two staircases lead to the flybridge, which, thanks to its fifty square meters of surface area, gives sufficient (and abundant) space to the external helm station, a table for 8/10 guests, a bar cabinet, sofas and chaises longues.

As mentioned above, it is difficult not to be fascinated by the more than 350 square meters of this boat, although – it seems unbelievable – these dimensions are even more striking in the sleeping area.

It is here that we find the owner’s apartment, a true 30-plus-square-meter suite that takes advantage of the boat’s maximum beam to provide space for a king-size bed, a walk-in closet, and a private four-seat lounge. Equally enormous is the bathroom, which includes two sinks, a shower, and a cleverly separated toilet room.

The other cabins are spread across the two hulls and, depending on which version is chosen, galley up or down, there can be four or five, always with private en suite facilities. The version I definitely prefer is the galley down, which, while making the main deck even more beautiful, also takes advantage of the starboard hull to house the galley and a double cabin that can be dedicated to the captain although, in the bow, two more crew cabins can be accommodated.

In this version, the port hull accommodates two VIP cabins equipped with queen-size beds and larger than usual size.

For large families or owners who like to have the boat always full of guests, there is also a 5-cabin version that certainly optimizes the space dedicated to sleeping even more by bringing the galley to the main deck.

Lastly, there is also a very clever 4-cabin Galley Up version, which allows the port hull to basically accommodate a second Master Cabin, equipped with a private lounge.

The new PRESTIGE M8 is not only wonderful but, to a careful eye, it also proves to be able to satisfy many needs: basically a catamaran built in semi-custom mode… This concept is also confirmed by the choice of the interior designer, Valentina Militerno de Romedis who, again with great mastery, furnishes this boat with exquisite taste, making possible a great choice of materials and colors and, again, allowing the creation of a very custom boat, just as is done with superyachts.

But on the other hand, this PRESTIGE M8 a superyacht in its own right, both in terms of size and the great finishing work that, evidently, the Monfalcone shipyard manages to produce.

Sea Trial

Comfort is the primary concept around which Marc Lombard (another great name) has developed the naval engineering of the two hulls that, as mentioned above, give the new PRESTIGE M8 the ability to navigate almost flawlessly.

At the helm the feeling is of total control, from the flybridge the view sweeps 360° giving a great feeling of safety. I put my hand on the throttles and accelerate slowly, we are not aboard a speedboat, but a great catamaran, a boat that deserves respect.

We cruise, of course, with a stability unmatched by any monohull and, in this case, also in absolute silence, a decidedly wonderful way of boating. At 8 knots we are cruising on velvet and, thanks to the hydrodynamics that only a catamaran makes possible, we consume less than 20 liters per hour, or less than 3 liters per nautical mile! This speed is not only economical but also makes possible a very low level of emissions for a boat of this size.

Even at 10 knots PRESTIGE M8 consumes very little, less than 4 liters per mile, a true record, certainly due to the meticulous work Marc Lombard has done with these two hulls.

The boat navigates in pure displacement mode up to about 10 knots then detaches two parallel wakes, one from each of the two hulls, clears the water and gets up on plane. Between 14 and 16 knots we are going in fast cruise mode, which is useful for escaping bad weather or simply reaching our destination quickly. At these speeds we clearly consume more, about 12 liters per mile, but still far, far less than what a motor monohull would do.

At full throttle PRESTIGE M8 easily reaches 21 knots, a speed we can hold for a limited time, but which can be useful in getting us out of trouble on more than one occasion.

At maximum speed I perform a couple of turns that our catamaran tackles without uncertainty, in complete safety, then through without decelerating the waves caused by a large passing boat. PRESTIGE M8 cuts through the large wave coming forward without the structure joining the two hulls impacting the wave, an excellent feature, quite unique for a catamaran. This quality certainly comes from the star design that Lombard has given to this structure, a real touch of genius.

I slow down and stop, the stability is impressive, PRESTIGE M8 just won’t roll! Spending the nights at anchor will be a five-star experience aboard this yacht.

I engage one throttle forward and another backward, at idle, just to try and see how this CAT evolves, and immediately it begins to turn in place, with absolute precision. Okay I get it, mooring this superyacht is a piece of cake, very comfortable indeed.

PRESTIGE M8 has definitely won me over, in every way.

PRESTIGE, world leader in luxury motor yachts, launches its latest addition, the M8. Flagship of the M-Line multihull yacht range, Prestige M8 is distinguished by a unique configuration that affords the space and comfort equivalent to that of an 85-foot monohull superyacht, targeting the needs of the most demanding owners. With the M8, PRESTIGE offers an unprecedented cruising experience, in perfect harmony with the sea, more respectful of the environment and with a reduced fuel consumption. The twin hulls ensure natural stability and excellent seaworthiness.

The M8, flagship of the M-Line by PRESTIGE, represents the quintessence of our savoir-faire in terms of design, elegance, and fit and finish. I would like to underscore the unique character of PRESTIGE, the only Franco-Italian yacht builder in the world, today, combining the French mastery of serial production and Italian heritage in large yacht construction” confirms Erwin Bamps, Vice President of PRESTIGE.

Prestige M8

Built at the Groupe Beneteau Italia shipyard in Monfalcone, the new M8 was masterfully designed by Garroni Design, the studio that crafted the identity of PRESTIGE from its beginnings, over 30 years ago. The result is a unique and distinctive multihull yacht with unparalleled surfaces and dimensions, and a hull which, designed from the start uniquely for a motor yacht, offers the upmost comfort with over 270 m2 of living space and spacious suites.

The new M8 represents a concentration of innovation. Her contemporary lines, high-performance hull design, and innovative layouts place this new model at the top of the multihull motor yacht category. The exterior lines have been designed to reveal a bold, distinctive personality. Here, there is no reference to the world of sailing catamarans, as so often is the case. Proportions are typical of a powerful, contemporary motor yacht. The M8 is a true villa on the sea. The layout, living spaces, ease of movement and safety on board have been designed to optimize the experience of the owners and their family,” explains Camillo Garroni, designer of the M8.

PRESTIGE M8: smooth and fuel-efficient cruising

The new Prestige M8 is a multihull yacht designed for maximum comfort and well-being on board. Two hulls, rather than one, guarantee a smooth and linear cruising experience, ensure natural stability and perfect seaworthiness even in heavy seas. This multihull, equipped with twin Volvo D8 600HP engines, handles particularly well in maneuvers at port and enables guests to benefit from every living space in ideal conditions. Cruising aboard the M8 is a unique and eco-friendly experience thanks to her extraordinary fuel efficiency: the yacht, in fact, consumes half as much fuel than a monohull with the same volume of living space. As an option, the Silent Boat Pack integrates a large surface area of solar panels and a substantial lithium battery bank.

Prestige M8 exteriors

It is the team of Marc Lombard, world-renowned in the yachting world, who designed the hulls of the M8,” explains Rosalie Le Gall, Product Manager at PRESTIGE. “The power catamaran will be certified in category A; the hulls are designed for passing smoothly through the waves at any speed, for up to 20 knots. The multihull configuration offers great stability at anchor and while under way. The M8 offers the space and luxury equivalent to that of an 85-foot monohull, with much greater comfort and connection with the sea” , continues Rosalie Le Gall – “She consumes half the fuel, due to her lighter, lesspowerful engines. The systems on board have also been optimized in order to reduce energy consumption by 50%. With this, we can operate the yacht at night and several hours during the day, using only the batteries, affording a gentler lifestyle for all on board”

Modular exterior and a Miami-inspired atmosphere

The M8 offers a Miami-inspired elegant and sophisticated atmosphere, with streamlined and contemporary living spaces: each detail is carefully studied for an uncompromised luxury experience. The priority is placed on the most rigorous quality standards and customization, offering a variety of interior versions with new materials and colours, and a new finish worthy of the largest yachts.

“With this new project, PRESTIGE has once again raised the bar. You can see it, feel it, in the experience on board – confirms Valentina Militerno de Romedis, Interior Decorator – A multihull is, by definition, a platform for meeting, for sharing, but it is also a place where the sky and sea meet and merge, and it is from this that we drew the inspiration for the Miami color palette and concept. This city, always turned toward the future, is the symbol of modernity. The ocean that borders it represents an open horizon, shared freely by the sky and the sea. It is this atmosphere that guided us in the selection of colors, of new materials and new fabrics”.

dinette

Outdoor spaces such as the main deck, 32-square-meter cockpit, and flybridge are designed to allow for free movement on board and, of course, for maximum relaxation: with a large 4.20-meter-wide moving platform that serves as a beach club, a large locker for storing equipment and water toys, and a full steering position on the flybridge, on which is also a large lounging area, the M8 is ideal for enjoying the sea in all its facets.

Dreamlike interiors immersed in luxury

PRESTIGE’s new M8 offers an unparalleled luxury experience not only in her exterior, but also, and perhaps most importantly, in her interior spaces. Every detail of the design has been taken care of, with special attention paid to the refinement and quality of the materials used, all of which are high-end and exceptionally refined. The living spaces are large and flooded with natural light, with a U-shaped galley and a modular salon that spans almost 50 m2. The master stateroom then is like a real private apartment reaching an unparalleled 30 m2 of luxury, which also distinguishes the three additional guest cabins, including a VIP suite.

Prestige M8 dinette

It can clearly be said that the M8 sets herself a no small goal of redefining standards of well-being on board, offering everyone the opportunity to share precious moments at sea by reconnecting with nature, reconnecting with it, themselves and others in a spacious, refined, light-filled environment: this is the Art de Vivre offered by the new M8.

Rossinavi took part in the Monaco Yacht Show with its latest additions that mark a significant step forward in the path of sustainable innovation undertaken by the shipyard.

Rossininavi sostenibilità

Visitors had the opportunity to appreciate the Italian shipyard’s constant research and development advances, fully immersing themselves in the technology behind BlueE and the study of different marine implementation models that have led to the birth of Sea Cat and Oneiric, the new family of electric and sustainable catamarans that represent Rossinavi’s innovation at its best.

In a booth that was a mix of the creativity of a street artist, who hand-drew the lines, and the technology of dynamic screens, Rossinavi first presented the technology encapsulated in their recently launched BluE philosophy, the result of their exploration into sustainable yachting.

Originally presented in June during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan with an immersive installation reminiscent of an underwater experience, BluE’s main vision and inspiration is phytoplankton. Composed of microscopic marine algae that have the ability to produce oxygen during photosynthesis and convert sunlight into energy for their survival, phytoplankton, and its ability to accumulate energy during the day and release it at night, was the inspiration behind SeaCat and Oneiric.

Rossininavi sostenibilità

In the same way, this line of catamarans is designed to absorb sunlight during daylight hours and transform it into clean energy, exploiting the capabilities of the photovoltaic system. But that’s not all: everything in the superyachts is designed to be 100% sustainable, such as the hull- a catamaran- an excellent compromise between movement and stability, with high efficiency and low friction when coming into contact with water.

Three levels of solar panels, perfectly integrated into the design, then allow for 100% electric sailing on day trips, and over 80% of the trip in all-electric mode on an Atlantic crossing: virtually a daydream where you are enveloped only by silence and the wonderful sound of the sea.

sostenibilità

“This is something that goes beyond a project; in fact, earlier this year, Rossinavi carried out some tank tests on a scale model of a catamaran at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, and the results were exciting: “Our efforts are currently focused on a new generation of boats” – says Federico Rossi, Rossinavi’s Chief Operating Officerand we were incredibly proud to see that the model we used in Gothenburg worked perfectly, staying within the range we had calculated”.

The future is knocking at the doors, including those of Yachting, which is taking important steps. The Monaco Boat Show was indeed a landmark in this 2022 from the sustainability point of view, and Rossinavi certainly made it clear that the direction to follow is the green one and the protection of our seas: there is a long way to go, but it is always the first step that starts the journey.

X30 Villa: Extra Yachts revolutionizes the large-sized catamaran segment https://www.superyachts.news/x30-villa-extra-yachts/ https://www.superyachts.news/x30-villa-extra-yachts/#respond Fri, 26 Aug 2022 10:50:49 +0000 https://www.superyachts.news/x30-villa-extra-yachts/ With the new X30 Villa, Extra Yachts not only launches a new line of motor catamarans but definitively revolutionizes the market for large-sized multihulls, finally managing to effectively unite this market with that of superyachts. With the new X30 Villa, Extra Yachts not only launches a new line of motor catamarans but definitively revolutionizes the market for large-sized multihulls, finally managing to effectively unite this market with that of superyachts.

This is an exercise that clearly has countless advantages but which, until the arrival of the X30 Villa, had limited itself to producing a series of yachts that, if other yards don’t mind me saying so, were limited to “imitating” the design of large sailing catamarans (obviously eliminating the mast), without however managing to find its own way, i.e. a design style dedicated and functional to motor yachts.

With this new model Extra Yachts, the Isa brand dedicated to building boats that can guarantee a more immersive contact with the marine environment, succeeds in fact in combining the liveability of a multi-level villa with the efficiency of a catamaran.

The exterior design is unmistakable and retains the shipyard’s DNA, based on the extensive use of panoramic glass, the presence of large social areas and an open stern that facilitates access to the sea.

The X30 Villa features a huge aft cockpit, which can be configured in any way through the use of freestanding furniture. This area is protected by a glass balustrade that does not obstruct the view. The submersible bridge, when aligned with the side platforms, also creates a very large beach club that, while allowing direct contact with the sea, also supports a tender of over 5 metres as well as other water toys.

A special feature of the layout is that the VIP cabins have direct access to the transom to enjoy the sea without having to cross the interior.

The main deck of the X30 Villa features very high ceilings and large panoramic windows to maximise external views while letting natural light flood the interior. The layout is divided into convivial areas on different levels, allowing for a break in continuity. One of the options is an open floor plan that includes a main salon, a library corner, a bar and an open kitchen, which casually flow into each other, dominated by the raised helm station and the observatory.

The interior is characterised by special architectural solutions such as the geometry of the ceiling that extends outwards at the top aft to create the illusion of a much larger convivial area with the saloon doors open. Freestanding furniture and accessories on the aft cockpit have been chosen to further amplify the interior atmosphere of this outdoor area.

Urban details combine with earthy materials in a softer visual language. The winding walls flow seamlessly into uprights and are finished with textured plaster. Polished concrete panels are complemented by stone window tops creating contrasts with matt metal and walnut furniture. Raised skylights flood the desaturated oak parquet flooring with areas of carpet and simulated concrete for a warm yet industrial look.

The master cabin is a true masterpiece of innovation. Conceived as a private destination in which to spend time in an idyllic setting, it features a relaxation area with sofas and a sleeping area positioned amidships, while the head with a private spa is located on a lower level, divided between the port and starboard hulls.

Nestled forward between the two hulls, the owner’s stateroom’s sea-view terrace can be lowered to offer exceptional views while maintaining maximum privacy. Glass doors can close the terrace to offer protection from wind, noise and weather.

JFA Yachts is ready to launch a new, amazing motor-powered catamaran. Presented a few days ago, the Long Island 86 Power is the latest addition to the Long Island range, which already includes the 85 Sailing and 78 Power. As the French builder points out, these are the only catamarans to have an aluminium hull and a composite deck.

Long Island 86 Power features generous dimensions and proportions with accommodation of up to 8 guests in four cabins. Bearing the signature of Marc Lombard, the design is exquisite, with great roominess and brightness aboard, combined with an extraordinary cruising experience resulting from excellent performance, reliability and quality of materials, in line with the top-of-the-range standards to which JFA Yachts has accustomed us. Interior design, on the other hand, is by Darnet Design.

Long-Island-86-Power-JFA-YachtsThese highlights alone would be enough to make the Long Island 86 Power a new object of desire without a second thought, but the elements of interest do not end there. The new catamaran from JFA Yachts is in fact available with both conventional and hybrid propulsion – the latter being particularly silent compared to market standards – and features an extremely spacious navigation deck, for which honourable mention must go to the Marc Lombard Design Group. With the helm conveniently sheltered but without compromising visibility, and with the large shaded outdoor lounge area, the navigation deck is in fact the real strength of the Long Island 86 Power, allowing both privacy and spectacular sea views when cruising. What’s more, the excellent additional structure already available on the Long Island 78 can be added as an option, which allows the helm station to be closed off and to have solar panels able to provide electricity when the yacht is at anchor, in order to reduce the use of the generator.

JFA-86-Power-Cat

The comfort and luxury of the Long Island 86 Power are complemented by a fabulous hot tub located forward and accessed from the interior lounge area for intimate moments of relaxation, an aft platform that can easily be converted into an additional sunbathing and diving area and four light-filled cabins. In short, as Marc Lombard emphasizes in his comments on this latest luxury catamaran from his studio, “the Long Island 86 Power is a simple, efficient, refined craft that is perfect for cruising”.

Sunreef Yachts has released the first photos of the 100 Sunreef Power and they are irrefutable proof that another masterpiece is being added to the superyacht luxury nautical scene.

Maybe it’s because multihulls increase the size of the living space in the galley in an absolute way and maybe it’s because Sunreef Yachts endows its – let’s call them legitimate works of art – with sublime design. The fact remains, however, that Sunreef Yachts’ ultra-luxury catamarans are at least a definitive signal for the market. The multi-hull mode appeals to owners. It also lends itself to cruising through generous spaces and does so with that spectacular grandeur that the tycoons of the planet always appreciate.

100 Sunreef Power: ocean crossings

100 Sunreef Power

The 100 Sunreef Power sails the oceans brilliantly, she’s designed for that. With the two immense aft ladders playing a starring role, the exterior architecture, thus conceived, could be compared to a futuristic cathedral.

The catamaran boasts a length of 28.63 meters and a maximum beam of 13.5 meters, almost double what is normally offered by a monohull superyacht. In the midst of all this space, there is a large dining room that offers the kind of comfort you would expect to find in a mega villa..

Ambivalent interiors

What is evident from the photos conveys a feeling of warmth well staged in an exquisitely Nordic atmosphere. The interior designer has chosen oak for the floors and opted for bespoke interiors, with classic cushions and sofas in soft colours or mossy shades. It’s almost as if it’s evoking a terrestrial, perhaps woodland, setting, in perfect contrast to the surrounding sea that fully envelops the superyacht. The cockpit is illuminated by large windows and a system of soft lighting.

100 Sunreef Power

Guests on board find their privacy in five en-suite cabins. The master cabin on deck opens out into the ocean, spreading across an expansive volume. The 100 Sunreef Power also has three crew cabins, two of which are located in the fore section of the hull and one in the stern.

The dark colours of the hull, the choice of square portholes, and the huge relaxation area on the forward deck all confirm how this catamaran’s exterior puts a lot of grit and sportiness into the water.

These features may be irreverent or perhaps “military”, but on the whole they are translated to perfection: an authoritarian luxury that leaves you wide-eyed, especially if you think of the classicism evoked by the wonderful aft stairs that lead on board. And the scene continues on the flybridge, which is so large that it doubles up as an open-air cinema, adding the most spectacular features to a catamaran of this kind.

flybridge

Designed by Agnieska Blizniuk, the hull of the 100 Sunreef Power is extremely sporty: with a vast flybridge and an innovative system that includes a garage capable of accommodating more than three seater jet-skis, water-toys and an aft hydraulically-operated platform.

The designer also explains that “catamarans are not present enough in the superyacht market,” and this is confirmed. This is an unjustified habit, but Sunreef Yachts is really changing the trend. The record we are talking about is obviously a source of pride: the Polish boatyard is the only one able to ‘inject’ superyacht quality into catamarans. Francis Lapp, founder of Sunreef Yachts, says: “Today, more and more owners agree that catamarans make fantastic luxury yachts”.

100 Sunreef Power is the largest of the motor-powered catamarans ever built by the Polish boatyard Sunreef Yachts, based in Gdansk, Poland. The multihull boat has been engaged this summer in a sea trial in the Baltic Sea that included technical tests and fine-tuning of the two 1,300 HP engines.

sunreef 100The boat boasts great elegance characterized by the creamy pink colours of the superstructure, perfectly matched with the very dark grey of the two metal hulls. The aft beach area of the 100 Sunreef Power is ultra-spacious and framed between two prominent entry ladders on both the starboard and port sides. This gives access to a garage of unparalleled dimensions that only a maximum beam of 13.5 meters can offer.

Huge garage

The garage accommodates sunreef yachts travel lifttwo jet-skis, “ a selection of water toys and a large hydraulic platform”. In fact, the beach area can be levelled to the height of the aft terraceon the maindeck, making it almost twice as large. The aft terrace on the flybridge is almost full beam and has a jacuzzi. 100 Sunreef Power can accommodate up to ten guests, is partly built in composite, measures 28.63 meters, and has a capacity of 20,000 litres of fuel and 2,400 litres of water. The naval architecture and design of this superyacht are entirely by Sunreef Yachts, which always guarantees the highest customization of its vessels.

100 Sunreef Power Exteriors

100 sunreef powerViewed in profile, the boat sees the three-horizontal-bar stainless steel handrails running from the centre to the bow of each hull. The simply (equally) immense foredeck is joined at the stern by spacious side-decks. The outer bow sofas are positioned exactly below the transverse bridge window. In the bow, the grey-coloured sundeck can accommodate at least six people. The foredeck is completely open to the sea without any protection. The main deck saloon is “a giant ‘alfresco’ relaxation area with a large interior“. Natural light floods into the well-lit cockpit thanks to the abundant vertical windows and the transparent sliding door that invites you into the aft deck. This is further incontrovertible proof that multihull superyachts are making their mark on luxury yachting. And the interest we’ve seen at boat shows in this type of craft is really high.

Sunreef Yachts will be exhibiting the 80 Sunreef Power Great White catamaran at the Monaco Yacht Show from September 22-25. The famous tennis player Rafael Nadal is the owner of this ultra-luxurious multihull which, we can bet, will also surprise the public at the Monaco Yacht Show. As for Nadal, who bought 80 Sunreef Power Great White in 2013, he says: “The boat is like a home for me, where I spend a lot of time enjoying myself and, at the same time, it gives me the opportunity to disconnect from everything else.”

Sunreef  Yachts

And Sunreef Yachts responds in kind, describing each of its boats as a “custom-made creation“. Each catamaran, motor yacht or superyacht has been designed and manufactured directly in Gdansk, Poland, since it was founded in 2003.

Sunreef Yachts’ debut in sunreef yachts catamaransluxury yachting came with the launch of the Sunreef 74 CHE, a prestigious 74-foot catamaran with flybridge. This “ocean-going” vessel profoundly changed the design philosophy of motorized multihulls, which up to that time were mainly chartered and were not very well maintained by luxury yachting standards. Thus began a success story for Sunreef Yachts.

The Monaco Yacht Show is the perfect opportunity for the Polish shipyard to further assert its position, especially in the segment of motor and sailing catamarans. By the way, the Monaco Yacht Show, which is highly focused on superyachts, will be held in Port Ercules, where boats from the world’s best shipyards will be moored.

80 Sunreef Power Great White

80 Sunreef Power Great WhiteRafael Nadal’s catamaran will be moored in front of the QC 11 stand on the “Chicane” quay. This dream catamaran accommodates up to eight people in a four-cabin layout. The two very wide hulls accommodate the main deck, which features a spectacular cockpit furnished with two face-to-face sofas and full vertical windows at the bow, starboard and port sides of the boat. At the stern, the terrace overlooking the sea is “crazy” in size. The flybridge with bar, barbecue and living space is the highest place on the boat to relax with a panoramic view (and is also Nadal’s favourite).

Felci Cat 80: a super future-oriented catamaran https://www.superyachts.news/felci-cat-80/ https://www.superyachts.news/felci-cat-80/#respond Thu, 15 Apr 2021 01:00:00 +0000 https://www.superyachts.news/felci-cat-80/ Versatility, innovation and futurism. Felci Yachts presents the new Cat 80, a super cruising catamaran, 24 meters long and about 12 meters wide, in which naval architecture, stylistic and functional design are the result of a long research and development work. Masterfully pencilled by Italian designer Umberto Felci, the Felci Cat 80 is a real technological synthesis in which years of experience and a futuristic vision of sailboats converge. Mainly designed for family cruising, the catamaran guarantees high levels of entertainment and comfort on board, offering, as in a luxurious seaside villa, ever-changing scenarios thanks to its versatility.

The interior spaces are arranged on three levels. The cabins and the galley are both positioned on the lower deck, in the hulls. The saloon, instead, is on the main deck, in direct communication with the cockpit. The flybridge is a large terrace located 5 meters above the water level. Interconnecting but separate, all spaces provide passengers with the upmost privacy.

felci-yachts-cat-80-pozzettoWhen climbing on board, the first distinctive element is certainly represented by the semi-enclosed cockpit, characterized by large stairs leading to the bow side-decks. On the starboard side, a luxurious relaxation area can be converted into a comfortable dining zone. This area is the heart of the boat, with direct access to both the interiors and the semi-raised flybridge.

The saloon is furnished with an exclusive sofa area, perfect for relaxing in at night, a large dining table for 12 and a study with sea view.

A spiral staircase in carbon and teak leads to the flybridge, where a large sunbathing platform is equipped with large cushions and a foldaway jacuzzi. The flybridge also houses the helm station, where the captain can easily have full control of both sailing and under-power navigation.

yachts-interniOn the main deck, ahead of the saloon, an additional outdoor lounging area guarantees pleasant privacy even when the boat is stern-moored in the port. Particularly noteworthy is the direct access to the twin master cabins which, very spacious, are equipped with king-sized double beds arranged transversally and in direct contact with the surrounding environment thanks to two large panoramic windows.

Both cabins are completed by two walk-in closets and two heads with separate shower and sauna, as well as large storage compartments, a study and a comfortable sofa.

Furthermore, the width of the hulls allows to accommodate two very large guest cabins, with en-suite heads and separate shower, keeping the stylistic quality and construction details which characterize all the interior spaces and decor.

The galley, connected to the crew area, is located aft, in the port hull, featuring generous volumes and exceptional finishes. Functional modern and elegant, the galley is a real home kitchen which, in addition to being equipped with a private lounge, is also in direct communication with the captain’s cabin. The latter has two overlapping beds, a large head and separate shower. Two separate crew cabins complete the interior layout.

felci-yachts-cat-80-saloneFrom a sailing point of view, two versions are currently under study: a more performing one with telescopic keels and another with fixed keel and slower draft. Construction is inevitably high-tech in carbon fiber sandwich, in order to obtain an absolutely non-deformable and sturdy one-piece structure.

The sail area, with a quite aft located mast, allows to sail without the aid of the engine power already with 8 knots of TWS and keep averages absolutely interestingminimizing both consumption and emissions.

In conclusion, the Felci Cat 80 promises to be an extremely cutting-edge boat.  An unprecedented super catamaran which makes innovation and comfort its main strengths.
